The Catholic Charities Volunteer Medical Clinic provides primary care services to people in need without charging them for office visits. The Volunteer Clinic is open Thursdays from 8:00AM-4:30PM. More weekdays will be added as volunteers join. The clinic serves primarily Spanish speaking patients, but interpreters are available. 

 

Professionals are needed to provide primary and specialized healthcare to clients at our Volunteer Medical Clinic in Washington, D.C. This vital care will help those in need in our community. 

 

Doctors will be responsible for:

  • Providing primary and specialty healthcare to clients
  • Documenting in the electronic medical record (eClinicalWorks/eCW)

Desired Skills, Experience & Characteristics:

  • Licensed medical professional in DC (or currently in good standing in another state) 
  • Able to speak Spanish (not required as interpreters are available)

Qualifications:

  • Volunteers must have an active professional license or credentials
  • Not an appropriate volunteer role for medical students

Time Commitment:

  • Volunteers at the Volunteer Medical Clinic are needed during regular business hours (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) for 4-hour shifts twice per month
  • Time commitment will vary depending on the professional’s availability 
  • Volunteers are asked to serve for at least 1 year or 80 hours or more

  • Limited street parking is available in front of the facility or in the lot on a case by case basis
  • Also accessible via the DC Metro Columbia Heights station (green line)

Next Steps:

  • Due Dec. 31: Fill in an application
  • 1-2 weeks after applying: Matching Expectations Conversation with Catholic Charities' staff; complete credentialing and privileging documents
  • Jan. 20 - Feb 8: Attend Volunteer Orientation, complete volunteer screenings, participate in role-specific training
  • Early February: Begin volunteering!
