Why should I volunteer to pick up & deliver donations for JFS?

You will be helping to give refugees a strong start to their life in America before they even arrive! We have the van, we just need a driver that can pick up and deliver furniture!

We are looking for someone that is able to drive our JFS cargo van (slightly larger than a regular van) to pick up furniture donations from around the Ann Arbor area and bring them to our warehouse or to the apartment of newly arriving refugees.

As a Donation Pick-up & Delivery Volunteer:

You will use our cargo van to pick up prescreened donations of furniture items. You’ll then deliver them to either our warehouse or the apartment of a newly arrived client. 

Qualifications:

  • Valid License & Insurance.
  • Attend a JFS General Volunteer Orientation (Can be individualized for this role)
  • Attend an Informational Interview to discuss logistics & scheduling

Have a friend that you want to volunteer with? There are two seats in the cargo van; you can work together! We can also work with dedicated groups who would like to share the commitment!

We're trying to find someone(s) with weekly availability that we can count on!
