Albuquerque Volunteer Opportunities - Career Pathways Mentor

Provide one-on-one mentorship for clients in our Refugee Career Pathways program. Through this program each participant receives individualized case management along with an Individual Career Development Plan tailored to their specific career goals and needs. Clients pursue a variety of activities and classes, which help them to upskill and develop stronger proficiency with the English language. Participants also gain access to community mentors including professionals working in the fields of medicine, business, technology, education, agriculture, and more. The program provides assistance with job search strategy and promotes placement within the clients’ career field of interest. In addition, the program offers exclusive access to degree evaluations, scholarship funds for vocational trainings, and networking strategies.

This mentorship is career pathway focused and mentor/mentee interactions will be focused on providing support in navigating the mentee's chosen pathway only. Mentors will attend an additional specialized training before being matched with a Refugee Career Pathways Program Mentee.

This is at-least a 3-month total commitment over a course of 12 months, with1-2 hours per week spent with the mentee during times when mentorship is needed over the client's 12-month enrollment in the RCP program. This will be described in more detail in the RCP Mentorship Training.
