Driver Mentor Program - Driver Mentor

Getting a drivers licence in Australia takes time, money and a lot of effort. The Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania (MRC Tas) Driving Program supports learners (and pre-learners) at each step so they can get a licence safely and legally.

The MRC Tas Driving Program is for people from refugee and migrant backgrounds in their first five years of settlement in Australia.

Volunteers support learners with on the road driving practice in dedicated learner vehicles.

The Driver Mentor program is available in the Glenorchy office only.

Learner Driver Mentors provide on-road driving sessions to learner drivers eligible for the L1 or L2 program using their time, ongoing knowledge and skill development, and the dual controlled MRC learner cars.
