Have fun and earn community service hours by joining TeensReach at Tully Library!

TeensReach is the youth council for the San José Public Library, providing a  way for young adults to build leadership skills by developing and participating in library activities.

Benefits:

  • Earn community service hours.
  • Build leadership skills which will help in college applications.
  • Receive recommendation letters from librarian if qualified.
  • Have fun and make new friends!

Activities include:

  • Tutoring children grades K-8 with their homework.
  • Assisting with children's crafts and games programs
  • Hosting and organizing teen programs at the library
  • Volunteering at our Summer Reading registration table
  • Helping with Friends of the Library book sales
  • Assisting at big holiday celebrations such as Moon Festival, Halloween, Santa Program, Lunar New Year, and more.

Qualifications:

  • 13-18 years of age
  • Have a strong interest in the library
  • Enjoy working with people of all ages and cultures
  • Be willing to learn new skills

Requirements:

  •  Attending TeensReach meeting on 3rd Wednesday of each month
  •  Active participation in and support of library activities and events As a bonus.

Qualifications Required

  • Age Must be at least 13+
