How do I become a Volunteer?...
Your first step is to find out more. First, decide what spare time you have, how much time you can commit each week - and how this fits in with your current lifestyle. We generally ask for about 4 hours a week to start with and a minimum commitment of 6 months. Some roles such as Simulated Patient Volunteer may be on a different commitment basis.
After that, have a look at the opportunities we have listed and either click on the website link to complete your application and tell us about the role(s) you are interested in or telephone our Voluntary Services Team if you prefer to have a chat in person about what opportunities we might have available for you.
If you would like a little more detail about what volunteering at Chesterfield Royal Hospital involves then click on the following link.
As North Derbyshire's only acute district general hospital, with 24 hour Emergency Department services, we're responsible for providing care and treatment to more than 400,000 people who live in our communities. Our vision is to be a first class provider of sustainable healthcare services, delivering the best possible care to our patients and being a great place to work for our people.
Our Volunteers are ordinary, dedicated and caring members of the community, who give their time and skills freely - to support patients and staff at the hospital. They are committed individuals who make a vast difference to the patient experience. Without the support of volunteers, the NHS would be a poorer place!
