Ombudsman

If you are a diplomatic and skilled communicator who cares deeply about the quality of care and rights of those seniors and who reside in long-term care facilities, Senior Services can use your help!

The Long-Term Care Ombudsman program team serve as advocates, monitor quality-of-care, and ensure that resident’s rights are protected.

We ask our volunteer Ombudsman to commit to a one year period of service, with a minimum of 5 hours per week. Ombudsman serve seniors Monday through Friday during the day 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

***As of October 2021, we have been unable to resume this volunteer program due to COVID-19.  If you would like to be on our list of future Ombudsman, when nursing homes are safely able to allow outside visitors in, please email Jillian Lewis at jlewis@ssseva.org for additional information.  A training date for 2022 has not yet been set***
