Youth Programs - Youth Leader (Positions for anyone 13-17 years old on their own)
Spend some quality time teaching kids about animals and have fun in the process! In this position, volunteers assist staff with the implementation of children’s programs (ages 7-14) at the Wisconsin Humane Society Milwaukee, Racine, or Ozaukee Campuses. Friday night shifts assist with Kids Night Out, while Thursday night shifts assist with Girl Scout Night. Camps take place during spring, summer, and winter breaks each year, dates and times vary.
- Under the supervision of staff, volunteers help with activity and game preparation, snacks, crafts, set-up, clean-up, and administrative tasks. Dates and times vary.
- Volunteers must be at least 13 years old to volunteer in this position. No parent or guardian is required to attend, but a waiver of liability is required for all volunteers under the age of 18. Previous experience working with children (i.e. babysitting) is preferred. Volunteers should be responsible, have a positive attitude, and excel working in a team environment. Volunteers must be able to secure their own transportation.
