Vet Prep
Vet Prep - Position for anyone 18 years and older.
These volunteers assist the vet staff in prepping and cleaning up after surgeries. Some duties include, restocking, cleaning instruments, making scrub and alcohol gauze, drawing up vaccines, cleaning cages, vacuuming, and mopping. This is very fast paced position, and volunteers must be comfortable observing medical procedures. Individuals must have strong communication skills and are able to work independently. This is a physical position, and you will need to be able to stand for long periods of time.
Open Shifts:
- Tuesdays from 10am-12pm
- Thursdays from 10am-12pm
- Fridays from 10am-12pm
Required Training:
- Meet & Greet with Volunteer Coordinator
- Online trainings:
- Volunteer Handbook – Online training
- People Centered Philosophy Video – Online training (25 minutes)
- Dog Handling Video – Online training (1 hour)
- Cat Handling Video – Online training (45 minutes)
- Small Animal Handling Video – Online Training (30 minutes)
- Dog and Cat On-Site Handling – with a staff member/volunteer trainer
- Multiple in-person one on one trainings with staff/volunteer trainer
