Shelter Crew: Laundry and Cleaning

Shelter Crew (Position for anyone 13 years and older.)

Shelter Crew Volunteers will provide support to our Operations and Animal Care Teams doing various tasks around the shelter.  

  

Objective  

Helping with laundry (washing, drying, and folding). We also have volunteers help with cleaning around the shelter. Cleaning includes: dusting, polishing stainless steel, cleaning cabinets, windows, and cutting hotdogs for the dogs. 

 

Duties  

  • Process dirty laundry  
  • Fold clean laundry   
  • Wash windows  
  • Cut hotdogs 
  • Stock kitchens  
  • Sort donations 

Shift Time/Location: 

  • Mondays - 10am-12pm
  • Thursdays - 10am-12pm
  • Saturdays 10am-12pm

Skills Needed  

  • The physical demands for this job include the following: standing, walking, bending, for extended period of time.  
  • Volunteers must be detail-oriented

  • Meet & Greet with Volunteer Coordinator 
  • Volunteer Handbook & Waivers – Online Training 
  • People Centered Philosophy – Online Training 
  • In Person Training with Volunteer Coordinator  

  

Commitment/Age Requirement 

  • Minimum of a 6-month commitment required.
  • This volunteer position is for anyone 13 years old to 15 years old with an adult.
  • This volunteer position is for anyone 16 years and older.
