Good Karma Bikes

Good Karma Bikes is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to represent our organization at community events, festivals, and outreach opportunities. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys meeting new people and sharing our mission of providing affordable transportation through bicycle repair and reuse.

Key Responsibilities:

Event representation: Staffing information tables at farmers markets, community festivals, health fairs, and neighborhood events to introduce Good Karma Bikes to potential volunteers, customers, and community partners.

Community education: Explaining our programs and services to diverse audiences, sharing information about bike repair workshops, volunteer opportunities, and how community members can access affordable bicycles.

Outreach engagement: Connecting with people who could benefit from our services, particularly those facing transportation challenges, and providing clear information about how to get involved with our programs.

Materials management: Setting up and maintaining attractive display tables, distributing brochures and promotional materials, collecting contact information from interested community members, and ensuring professional presentation.

Relationship building: Networking with other community organizations, identifying potential partnership opportunities, and representing Good Karma Bikes as a welcoming, inclusive community resource.

Event logistics: Arriving early for setup, maintaining organized displays throughout events, engaging with attendees in all weather conditions, and handling breakdown and cleanup responsibilities.

Follow-up support: Collecting feedback from community interactions, reporting back on community needs and interests, and helping connect interested individuals with appropriate programs or volunteer opportunities.

Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enthusiasm for community engagement, ability to work independently at events, comfort speaking with diverse audiences, and passion for bicycle advocacy and community service. Bilingual skills are valuable for reaching broader community populations.
