Due to Covid-19 restrictions, volunteer on-boarding steps will be completed online via Zoom, including the volunteer interview and orientations.
We ask that interested volunteers have a computer or mobile device and reliable internet access, as these processes will take place online.

Volunteering with Alberta Health Services (AHS) is a unique opportunity to support Patient and Family Centred Care.

AHS volunteers are individuals looking for a rewarding opportunity to share not only their time but provide meaningful support to patients and their families through a variety of roles.  Volunteers are a vital link in the important work of Alberta Health Services.

What is the Role of the Volunteer?

Accessing health care can often be an overwhelming and stressful experience.  Volunteers provide assistance to patients and their families in a variety of roles throughout a patient’s healthcare journey.  The majority of roles include direct patient support, requiring volunteers to be non-judgmental and adhere to AHS’s confidentiality standards.
