Hub retail Shop - handing out food and maintaining shop - Shop Supervisor and Till operator

Shop Supervisor             

There are opportunities to be a shop supervisor.

You will need to:

1. Switch on lights

2.Put signs including BB outside the front at 9am

3. Ensure all food is bought down from the loading bay either by warehouse assistant (they report to General Manager) and/or volunteers

4. Arrange food on shelves, fridges and freezers by working with volunteers or do it yourself if shortage of volunteers

5. Check all use by and best before dates of food as it is put out in all fridges

6. Check the Artisan fridges, freezer and shelves for dates on stock and stock accordingly and ask managers for POS for displays

7. It is the shop supervisors role to then put maximum/minimum POS sign out on each shelf in the shop in conjunction with managers.

8. Count float before putting it in the till.

9. Check card machine is charged and ready for use.

10. Switch shopwatch radio on and logon to shopwatch, our call sign is SW22.

11. Appoint someone to do the community fridges from 10am.

12. 9.50am a team brief by shop supervisor allocating everyone a job and clarifying the times each employee and volunteer will be leaving.

13. Do the tea, coffee and smoking/vaping break rota but no breaks until 11am, if less than 4 hours volunteering or paid work there is no break entitlement. Minimise the smoking/vaping breaks. Only allow 1 or 2 people on a break at the same time.

14. It is your responsibility to ensure that the cleaning rota tasks both daily and weekly by either delegating to others or doing it yourself.

15. Empty all the community fridges and clean them and the backup fridges against the back wall and dispose of in the red farm bins on the loading deck area.

16. Dispose of all community bread in the red farm bins on the loading deck area.

17. At the end of the day remove all use by food from the shop fridge and dispose of in the red farm bins on the loading deck area.

18 At the end of the day go through all bread in the shop and if its ok to move to community for the next day.

19. Clean the shelves the bread was on.

20. Sweep the floor and then mop it.

21. Return all the crates to the loading deck area into the correct piles.

22. Take all cardboard up to the loading deck area and flatten to go into the cardboard bins.

23. Lock the doors at 1:30pm.

24. Cash up and give takings to the duty manager.

25. Sign out on shop watch radio.

26. Bring the signs in.

27. Empty the bins and put in the biffa bins.
