Wildlife Patient Care and Cage Cleaning – Baby Orphans
Major Objective: Work cooperatively with staff and other volunteers to feed, clean, enrich and medially care for orphaned babies of a variety of species. Keep daily logs for each animal. Maintain clean and sanitary conditions. Assist with laundry, dishes and overall organization for Wildlife Program.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old
Comfortable with working with a variety of wildlife species
Knowledge of standard SPCA policies and procedures
Ability to communicate and work well with the public, staff and other volunteers
Pay a nonrefundable amount of $10 for volunteer gear
Responsibilities: Feed and water animals as needed
Clean animal cages as needed
Record and report observations of patients to any Wildlife staff member
Professionally represent SPCA Tampa Bay at all times
Training: Complete telephone meet and greet with Volunteer Program Manager
Complete onsite orientation with Wildlife Assistant Manager
Complete onsite training sessions
Physical
Demands: Carry, kneel, bend, push and pull
Walk and stand for prolonged periods
Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds
Time Commitment: Minimum per week: 1 shift
Monday-Wednesday: 8:00am-12:00pm, 12:00-3:00pm, or 3:00-6:00pm
Friday-Sunday: 8:00-12:00pm, 12:00-3:00pm, or 3:00-6:00pm
Minimum Commitment: 3 months
