Pocket Pet Enrichment Specialist

If you find our smaller furry and feathered friends eggs-tremely cute this might be the opportunity for you! The objective of our Pocket Pet Enrichment Specialist is to socialize and enrich the lives of our pocket pet population to keep them “hoppy” and healthy.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Knowledge of standard SPCA policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate and work well with the public, staff, and other volunteers.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Pay a nonrefundable amount of $10 for volunteer gear.   
                                        

Responsibilities:

  • Give our rabbits some time outside of their enclosures.
  • Pet and cuddle our adoptable pocket pet population.
  • Provide snacks and toys and engage our smaller animals.
  • Always maintain a clean and safe environment for the animals and public.
  • Record and report unusual observations to Senior Manager Animal and Client Welfare
  • Professionally represent SPCA Tampa Bay at all times. 

Training:                             

  • Complete telephone meet and greet with Volunteer Program Manager
  • Complete onsite training with a member of our Pocket Pet Enrichment or Adoptions team members.

Physical Demands:                          

  • Carry, kneel, and bend.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds.

Time Commitment:       

  • 1 shift per week
  • Wednesdays - Fridays: 1:00-3:00 pm or 3:00-6:00 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 10:00am-12:00am, 12:00pm-3:00pm, or 3:00-6:00 pm
