Virtual Volunteering - Chess Club Leader

We are looking for enthusiastic Chess Club leaders to help run our virtual Chess Club program, held online on Zoom every Sunday. The ideal candidates must be familiar with chess rules and be able to help explain chess strategy to younger kids. Must commit to attending most weeks for 1-2 hours online for at least 6 months. Fingerprint clearance required for volunteers 18 and over.
How You Will Make a Difference
Chess Club leaders will help kids learn and improve their chess skills by playing games against each other.
Volunteers are needed to
Help guide students to play chess against one another in a virtual environment.
Share chess strategy through examples, puzzles, and games.

Commitment/Schedule
- Volunteers need to commit to 1 hours per week, for a minimum of 6 months
Prospective volunteers should
- Complete Volunteer Training
- Have experience or interest in working with youth
- Have strong oral communication skills
- Be dependable, patient, and flexible
- Complete a fingerprint background check, at no cost to you. Only required if you are 18 years or older
Language Skills
- Bilingual skills are desired, but not required.
