Alberta Parks Projects - 2024 - High Rockies Trail

Friends of Kananaskis Country

This project will work on several sections of the High Rockies trail over multiple dates. Types of work will vary depending on the section and could include:

  • general trail condition assessment & trail sweeps
  • small to medium-sized tread repairs to fix drainage issues and overall tread condition
  • brushing work to improve sightlines
  • clearing bridge decks
  • removal of deadfall
  • removing rocks/boulders from trail surface
  • inventory and/or installation of trail signage
NOTE: some projects may require access by E-mountain bike. For these 'Bike' project dates, volunteers must be competent in riding an E-mountain bike while carrying a pack on off-road terrain including dirt roads and trails. FKC has a limited number of bikes available for volunteer use; if you have your own e-mountain bike that you wish to use, please contact our program coordinator
