Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park - Trail Maintenance & Brushing Projects

Join us for some general trail maintenance on a selection of trails in the Bow and Kananaskis valley areas. These trail days will include tasks such as general trail maintenance activities such as brushing & limbing work to improve sightlines and minor trail tread and drainage work repairs, as well as some trail de-commissioning work.

June 10 - Mt Lady MacDonald Trail. The re-routing of the official Lady MacDonald access trail has been completed and we will be rehabilitating unofficial trails in the wildlife corridor. This is a moderate level activity, mainly moving brush and logs.

Meeting time:9:00am (work day: 9:00am-3:00pm)

Meeting location: will be confirmed in trail day reminder sent the day prior.

What to expect: The level of effort will range from light to moderate and could include:

>using hoes, rakes and Pulaskis to dig/till or otherwise remove ruts in seasonal wet/muddy sections

>packing and raking smooth finished tread on damaged tread sections

>brushing and limbing hazard trees/bushes to improve sightlines and safety

>rock work to move and adjust rocks on various sections of trail.
