TRAIL CARE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 

 

Sibbald Public Land Use Zone - Trail Maintenance & Brushing Projects

This project will include a variety of work focused on clearing downed trees and deadfall and brushing work, as well as general trail maintenance (minor trail tread and drainage work) to improve the trail corridor on various trails in the PLUZ.

Meeting time:9:00am (work day: 9:00am-3:00pm) 

 

Meeting location: will be confirmed in trail day reminder sent the day prior. 

 

What to expect:  Types of work will vary depending on the section and could include:

  • Small to medium-sized tread repairs to fix drainage issues and overall tread condition
  • Brushing work to improve sightlines    
Dates:
22nd May: Tom Snow:  EBIKE from Jumpingpound Demonstration Public Land Recreation Area - Trail repairs and sweep, Tread repairs on Tom Snow south of Moose Creek, trail sweep to junction of Kestrel Trail. 
23rd May: 30th Anniversary Sibbald Trails Day: HIKE on Sibbald Lake Trails - Trail repairs and sweeps
25th May: Curly Sands: HIKE from the turn off for Ware Creek (old Gorge Creek) road - Trail maintenance on Curly Sand Trail

Volunteer Agreement Form: You will need to fill out this volunteer agreement waiver prior to working on a trail care event. Please visit the link above to fill out this form ASAP prior to the trail day.

  • Sign up closes 48 hours prior to the event. Confirmed sign-ups will receive a reminder email with additional information on what to bring and meeting time/place.
