TRAIL DAY CALL OUT – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

CLOUDLINE TRAIL BUILD

Help build your local trail community! This is our third season of working on the new Cloudline trail (in the Canmore area). The trail extends eastward from the Highline trail and is designed to be challenging and fun with lots of elevation changes.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This project would be moderate level of work/difficulty, including a 2 to 3 km walk with uphill sections to get to work areas. The trail was roughed in last year, so we'll now be focusing on using hand tools like rakes, hoes and clippers and doing hand finishing work to complete the trail.  Primary tasks will include backsloping the uphill side, cutting out extra roots, smoothing the trail tread, and broadcasting debris on the downhill side.  The work isn't as heavy as constructing a brand-new trail but it's still good exercise!
