The gardens at the Center for Urban Horticulture (CUH) are highly visible public spaces featuring plants ranging from Northwest native species to annuals and herbaceous perennials from around the world.
Garden Assistants help care for these spaces through hands-on seasonal work that may include weeding, mulching, planting and plant removal, path grooming, light pruning, perennial plant care, and watering.
Volunteers meet on Tuesday mornings and are asked to commit to at least three months. No previous gardening experience is required. Volunteers receive an orientation to the CUH grounds and training in the gardens. Attention to detail and a willingness to learn are important.
