Every haircut matters. For many people, it may be the first time in a long while they've experienced genuine care without judgement.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Qualified hairdresser or barber (or competent apprentice)
  • Confident working in community or non-traditional settings
  • Able to provide your own essential tools
  • Professional, reliable and compassionate
  • Comfortable engaging with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Committed to SBSW values and hygiene and safety standards

Experience working with vulnerable communities is valued, but empathy, professionalism and respect are what matter most.

The Commitment

To create meaningful impact, we ask volunteers to contribute approximately 2 hours every month or six weeks

Regular involvement helps build trust, familiarity and stability for the people who rely on our services.
