One-on-one social visiting - Residential Aged Care
Volunteers are matched to visit one-on-one with a resident at a nursing home. Matches are based on similar backgrounds, interests, etc. A social visit may include: conversation/reminisce, garden walks, read the paper/book, play cards, puzzles etc.
Volunteers are asked to visit a minimum of fortnightly and are required to report back about how visits are going, which can be done via smartphone.
Visits usually take place during the day on weekdays but some weekend opportunities may be available.
This opportunity is only available to volunteers aged 18 and over.
