Skate
Volunteers choosing this category must be able to attend a mandatory Skills Assessment to verify the their skating ability. Dates and times will be shared on a rolling basis, but will be primarily offered during the Fall and Winter sessions.
To successfully pass a skills assessment, volunteers must complete ALL of the following:
- Skate backwards while maintaining awareness of surroundings
- Complete a two-foot 180° pivot while skating
- Perform 360° tight turns
- Stop efficiently while skating (forwards and backwards)
- Fall down and stand up safely
- Forward crossovers
