Community Gardens - Pollinator Caretaker Training
Join us for our Pollinator Caretaker training on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 9-11am at Medway Community Garden, located at 2069 Medway Rd on James Island.
Pollinator Caretakers will play a vital role in nurturing and maintaining the dedicated pollinator habitats at Medway and Magnolia Community Gardens. Working in these spaces, members will actively contribute to the well being of local pollinator populations through garden maintenance, habitat inspections and regular pollinator counts.
Time Commitment: 3 hours per month, 2 Saturday mornings per month from 9-10:30am
Volunteers will commit to this role on a quarterly basis, with the option to renew
First Quarter proposed dates: October 7 & 21, November 4 & 18, December 2 & 16
Training will include:
- 1 hour hands on class at the pollinator garden to learn plant ID, pollinator ID, iNaturalist app, habitat management
- 1 hour of practicing regular tasks in the pollinator gardens
