Purpose of the Role
Navigating a large hospital campus can be challenging for patients and visitors. Our Courtesy Buggy Driver Volunteers provide convenient, safe, and friendly point-to-point golf buggy transport across hospital grounds. As the first warm welcome or final helpful wave goodbye, you make arriving at or leaving Hollywood Private Hospital stress-free.
Service Operating Hours: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Volunteer Shifts: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 12:15 PM & 12:15 - 4PM
Key Responsibilities

Patient & Visitor Transport: Safely drive the golf buggy along designated campus routes, picking up and dropping off patients, visitors, and families arriving at or leaving the hospital.

Effective Communication & Customer Service: Act as a warm, welcoming presence on campus, offering helpful directions, clear guidance, and friendly assistance to passengers.

Safety Standards & Vehicle Care: Conduct visual safety checks before driving, ensure seatbelts are securely fastened, assist with luggage or mobility aids, and keep the buggy clean and properly charged—always adhering to safety guidelines within the scope of your volunteer role.
Requirements & Personal Attributes

Licensing: Valid Australian Driver’s Licence (unrestricted).

Communication Skills: Warm, respectful, and effective communication skills to connect with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

Safety & Detail Oriented: Strong commitment to passenger safety and comfort.

Interpersonal Qualities: Empathy, patience, a friendly attitude

Commitment: Reliability to attend rostered shifts regularly, complete initial orientation and safety training, and participate in ongoing Volunteer Services catch-ups.
