There are various ways in which you can help.
House Helper
The role of the House Helper is to assist us in providing a clean, welcoming and comfortable environment for the families staying at the House. This includes light cleaning and bed making (single beds only) but does not include cleaning bathrooms and toilets or mopping and vacuuming floors.
Dinner Coordinator – Meals from the Heart
The ‘Meals from the Heart’ program is a wonderful initiative which provides our families with delicious and nutritious meals, a night off from dinner preparation and a fun corporate staff engagement program for the groups that come into the House.
The role of the Dinner Coordinator is to support the groups to ensure food is well prepared, served to families in a timely manner and the kitchen left tidy and clean for the following day.
Shuttle Bus Driver
Using the RMHC 7-seater bus, the role of the Shuttle Bus Driver is to get our families where they need to go. Reducing the burden of inner-city travel, drivers transport families to places such as the hospitals, airport, supermarket, personal appointments and attractions like the zoo. Drivers will also help with deliveries and collections of donated goods.
Welcome Desk Assistant
You will be the part of the front facing team being the first point of contact for those visiting the Ronald McDonald House. Welcome Desk volunteers will assist in providing high quality, client friendly services including welcoming families, answering enquiries, responding to telephone calls, providing direction and interpretation of visitor and family needs, and performing general administration duties consistent with a reception environment.
We also have many other ways in which you can help, including gardening and maintenance, baking and cooking, wellbeing services such as hairstylists and assisting with arts and crafts with the children staying with us.
Family Room Attendant (Monash Hospital, Joan Kirner Women's & Children's Hospital and Wodonga Hospital)
The role of the Family Room Assistant is to meet and greet families and provide orientation to the Family Room as well as keeping the Family Room clean and tidy. You may also assist baking and cooking, activities with the children and restocking of supplies.
Who are you?
Aside from a fun, energetic, passionate human - we are looking for someone who is inspired by our mission and actively wants to contribute to the values held by Ronald McDonald House Charities.
