How You Can Help
We offer a variety of volunteer roles to suit different interests and skills, including:
- Supporting the day-to-day running of our Houses and Family Rooms
- Keeping spaces clean, comfortable, and well stocked
- Driving our shuttle bus
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who are warm, positive, and motivated to make a difference. If you’re passionate about supporting families and aligned with our values, we’d love to hear from you.
Ideally, you will have:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with families
- A positive, “can-do” attitude
- Availability to commit to a 3–4 hour shift per month, for a minimum of 6 months
Compliance & Requirements
Ronald McDonald House Victoria & Tasmania will cover the cost of required compliance checks.
You will need:
- A valid Working With Children Check (VIC) or Working With Vulnerable People registration (TAS), or willingness to obtain one
- A clear Police Check
- Agreement to our policies and procedures
- To be 18+ (or 26+ for shuttle bus drivers)
- A valid driver’s licence (for shuttle bus roles only)
Please note:
- Additional compliance requirements (including immunisations) apply for volunteering in Family Rooms, depending on the hospital
- Student placements can only be signed off after completing 6 months of service
