Choices include Medical Drives, Friendly Visiting, Light Gardening and Odd Jobs, Meal Delivery, Grocery Shopping and more! Some of these roles are flexible and unscheduled, some have regular shifts.
Come and help at a vibrant seniors’ activity centre in the heart of Sidney by the Sea! Roles include Reception, Office Admin, Activity Support, Events, SHOAL Café, and more. Most of these roles are scheduled and occur during the day on week days.
Bring your background in active listening, and benefit from excellent training resources to come alongside 55+ peers as you ease their journey through a life challenge, or assist with group facilitation for those caring for a loved one at home. These activities are scheduled, during weekdays (1-1 matches are flexible) and located on Saanich Peninsula.
See treasures first and help support Beacon programs by lending your time and skills in our thrift stores. You can help on cash, sorting donations, pricing or merchandizing. Seven locations throughout Greater Victoria, scheduled shifts and more flexible options available.
Volunteer in one of our beautiful homes, either supporting or leading activities based around your own hobbies and interests, or in a 1-1 match with a resident who would love your company. Two locations; one in Sidney and one in James Bay; scheduled and flexible options; weekends and weekdays possible.
If you love children, we have a few locations on Saanich Peninsula where you can volunteer at a childcare centre or after school care location. Help with arts and crafts, games, reading, snack prep, outdoor activities, or come with your ideas! Regular shifts are helpful for planning.
Bring your skills and background in fundraising activities, your strong networks and storytelling abilities, or your desire to support Beacon in a strategic way by supporting this department with a variety of roles. Help us grow, thank and develop our donor base.
