Project Fresh Start, a program of the Family and Community Engagement department, is proud to present its annual Backpack Blitz and Resource Roundup. This event, made possible by generous donations from community organizations and individuals, provides free school supplies to Ankeny families, as well as connects local community resources.

We need enthusiastic volunteers to help make this year's event a success! Support from those 18 years and older is needed for both event set-up on Friday, July 31st, and the event day on Saturday, August 1st. Volunteer tasks may include:

• Setting up tables

• Organizing materials

• Checking in families

• Gathering grade-specific supplies

• Distributing backpacks

Some roles may involve physical activity. Please communicate any specific needs you may have, and we will gladly accommodate you.

To provide flexibility, we offer various time slots for volunteers who can commit to the entire day, as well as those who can offer support for a portion of the day. If your availability differs from the listed slots, please still sign up and indicate your preferred schedule. We appreciate any support you can provide!
