Volunteer Opportunities

Assisting in Lessons

Volunteers assist in lessons as leaders, sidewalkers, and equine learning assistants. Lesson volunteers are our greatest need because our lesson programs are the core of our organization's mission. Volunteers typically commit to one or more weekly lessons for the duration of a session.

For more details on what each role entails, please see our Volunteer Handbook.

To view our typical daily lesson schedule, please see our Dates to Remember calendar.

Barn Duty

Barn volunteers help in a variety of ways to care for our equine team. This is an essential and important role and one of our greatest areas of need for volunteers. Barn volunteers are needed 365 days a year and typically help in the early morning and mid-afternoon. Volunteers typically commit to a regular day and time to help weekly in this role.

Please see our Volunteer Handbook for additional information on this role.

Special Events

GMTRC has a handful of special events throughout the year. This includes programs with local school districts, partner events with other community groups such as Aaron's Acres, our fundraiser Gala, annual Celebrate party, and our largest event - our annual Horse Show.

If you are interested in helping with any of these events, please submit an application and contact our Volunteer Coordinator to find out about upcoming events.

Fundraising

Volunteers to help with fundraising initiatives are always welcome. To help in this area, please submit an application and contact our Volunteer Coordinator to find out about current opportunities.

Facility and Grounds Support

Facility volunteers help us to maintain our stable and grounds. Facility volunteers operate on a varying schedule throughout the year. If you are interested in helping in this role, please submit an application and contact the Volunteer Coordinator to discuss specific areas of interest.

Schooling Riding

Schooling riders are competent equestrians who assist us with training and exercising our equines. If you are interested in helping us in this area, please submit an application. Volunteers should be able to commit weekly schooling on Monday or Wednesday mornings.

See our Volunteer Handbook to view additional requirements for this role.
