LBAVC Administrative - Assistant Volunteer Support Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Volunteer Support Specialist

Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for assisting in the planning, recruiting, organizing, and directing of volunteers assigned to divisions within MVA.  The position is also responsible for the administration for the divisions of Better Impact, the volunteer management software deployed by Long Beach Area Veterans Collaborative , supporting Human Resources’ efforts as well.

Time Commitment

At first probably about 5 – 10 hours per week.  The bulk of time not spent of maintenance would be looking for potential new volunteers.

Essential Functions

  1. Work with the divisions regarding the Better Impact Software.
  2. Be available to speak with potential volunteers who have general questions and be back-up for division managers to reach out to potential volunteers.
  3. Helps organize, coordinate, and manage the recruitment of volunteers for the divisions.
  4. Runs monthly and ad-hoc reports for managers as requested.

Preferred Experience

  1. Prior experience as volunteer coordinator for public or nonprofit employer.
  2. Prior experience creating and implementing volunteer programs and training or project management.
  3. Working with a database system in some capacity.

 

Note:  The applicant will be trained on the Better Impact software

Qualifications Required

  • Indoctrination Training Must be Passed
