Job Title: Veteran Resource Directory Volunteer Intern
Job Summary:
The Long Beach Area Veterans Collaborative (LBAVC) is looking for volunteer interns to assist in researching, collecting, and verifying resources available to Veterans. 2-10 hours per week during semester.
Interns play a crucial role in helping the LBAVC directory, used by case managers and other support agencies that provide or seek services for our veterans. They can identify new resources and/or ensure the accuracy of the existing data.
Key Responsibilities:
- The volunteer intern researches and identifies new resources, programs, and services available to veterans, including healthcare, housing, employment, education, and mental health services.
- They accurately input newly discovered resources into our database, ensuring all relevant details are captured (e.g., the specific organization and program name, the main services provided, contact information, and the criteria for applying for services).
- The volunteer intern will also review and validate existing directory entries to ensure that all information is current and accurate.
- They will also collaborate and consult closely with the directory resource director to share findings, ensure consistent data management practices, and feel supported in this entry-level endeavor.
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Data Management, or a related field.
- Research Skills: Strong research and analytical skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Technical Skills: Ability to work with different Microsoft and Google applications.

Location:
