JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title Volunteer Coordinator
Job Summary: Help develop and grow the number and quality of volunteers to assist Long Beach Area Veterans Collaborative to help achieve our mission as it pertains to volunteerism.
Essential Functions
- Recruit volunteer outreach assistants.
- Recruit and vet volunteers who wish to donate time effort to utilizing Better Impact.
- Be familiar with Better Impact as it pertains to volunteer tracking.
- Be the recipient and distributor of all requests for volunteer service from our web site, staff and other volunteers and communicate with them on the Long Beach Area Veterans Collaborative Volunteer process.
- Ensure that all volunteers enter their time in through the Better Impact Portal.
- To verify activity of each volunteer who is scheduled to work and determine either a suitable replacement or notification to person who is expecting the assistance from the volunteer.
- Disseminate any updated information and apprise volunteers of any important events or activities that pertain to Long Beach Area Veterans Collaborative
Skills Requirements;
- Ability to interact with volunteers and foster cooperation.
- Decision making skills - whether the volunteer is capable of performing the required job functions.
Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job
- Some knowledge of volunteering
- Thorough knowledge of Long Beach Area Veterans Collaborative volunteer processes.
- Technically competent to perform Better Impact tasks.
