Box Office

The Box Office crew members work at indoor and outdoor venues selling and scanning performance tickets where needed. Working in teams of 2 people, this crew enjoys greeting patrons, selling and scanning tickets, and can easily manage devices and handle cash to ensure Jazz Winnipeg concerts are successful.

Duties

  • Pick up pre-packed venue bins at Jazz Winnipeg offices with volunteer partners and deliver to venues prior to performances, ensuring safe transport at all times.
  • Liaise with Venue Managers for distribution of venue bin content at the venue.
  • Scan tickets at select indoor venues, and process electronic payments and cash payments for walk-up ticket sales as needed.
  • Process electronic payments and cash payments.
  • Keep all cash and receipts safe at all times.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Energetic and friendly with effective communication skills.
  • Able to multitask and problem solve in a busy environment. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using electronic devices and handling cash.
  • Able to accurately process financial transactions.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the start of the Festival.
  • Must be willing to stand for extended periods during your shift.
  • Ability to work some late night shifts. 
  • Abide by the Volunteer Code of Ethics and all policies referenced in the Jazz Winnipeg Volunteer Handbook.

Time Commitment

  • Attend one orientation meeting prior to the start of the festival (~1.5 hours).
  • Volunteer at least 15 hours (in 4 hour shifts) during the Festival.
