Day Camp Volunteer
Activity Summary:
Do you enjoy high energy environments and working with children?
The Day Camp Volunteer opportunity would be a great fit for you! Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Assist Day Camp staff with care of day campers and help ensure their safety
- Assist Day Camp staff in providing children with great educational and recreational experiences.
- Perform daily logistical tasks (snack and lunch distribution, light clerical duties, facilities maintenance, etc.)
- Report to the Day Camp Director, and work closely with other Day Camp Staff
Day Camp operates from June 13 through July 29. Volunteers must be available Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. and will be scheduled throughout the week.
Qualifications:
- 14 years or older
- Passion for helping
- Experience in working with children
- High energy, poised demeanor, and friendly disposition
- Ability to relate to and work with diverse populations
- Reliable, organized, and hard working
- Pass initial screening process, including a background check
Policies:
Alcohol, drugs, and smoking are not permitted at any Salvation Army facilities or volunteer sites.
Pants/shorts and a shirt must cover the waist and fit comfortably. Transparent and tight-fitting clothes are not permitted. For your safety, closed toe shoes are suggested.
Adhere to CDC, state, local and Salvation Army guidelines for COVID protocol. You will also complete a brief health screening prior to volunteering.
Off-street parking is available.
