Donut Day Campaign - Donut Day Fundraiser
Join us in our fight against hunger! Every year during the Spring Hunger Campaign, The Salvation Army raises funds on Chicagoland's busy street corners and other sites. The two-day event is called "Donut Day," in remembrance of World War I, when The Salvation Army distributed hearty donuts and coffee to the exhausted soldiers in the trenches of the battlefields. Funds raised during "Donut Day" support The Salvation Army's many social service programs.
You must be 16 years of age or older to apply. We're looking for positive, upbeat, and engaging people who understand the ministry of The Salvation Army to assist us in raising funds. You must be honest and able to work well with others.
You can volunteer to collect money for a two hours or longer. Must be able to stand for a couple of hours at a time.
Fundraising hours are: Friday June 1st 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday June 2nd 9:00am to 5:00pm.
If you are interested in more information, please call our office at 630-629-4948.
