These are certainly different times that many, if any, have ever encountered before. At the House our families and staff safety remain our first priority, so currently we are down to three staff members a day in the House only doing cleaning and front desk tasks only. Everyone else is working from home. We have reduced our families to 13 so that they all have access to a bathroom of their own and where we can manage social distancing requirements
I’ve been sitting here wondering if you are all missing us and our families like we are all missing you? The general chit chat, your smiles and shared laughter that make our House a Home are just not there. If ever there was a time to be truly committed to our values of Kindness and Compassion, now is the time. We are encouraging everyone to sign up and commit to bringing even more kindness than usual through our Great Kindness Challenge www.greatkindnesschallenge.com.au
We know that this year we are going to take a significant negative impact on our financials however, we will not let this impact on the service we provide to our families. If you can assist us by being the kind people you are and promoting awareness of our Chapter, it would be truly appreciated.
We all hope that you, your families and friends are staying safe and that you are not feeling the impacts of this incomprehensible time. Our hearts are hurting for all the visible and hidden impacts that this is going to have on so many people. Remember, if you are feeling isolated, scared, anxious or lonely, we welcome a call at any time or you can access our EAP, which will provide a free third party counselling support.
