Dear Valued Volunteers,
I just wanted to send you all a heartfelt thankyou from all the Staff, Board and families of RMHC Sydney.
This year has had more than its fair share of challenges, in so many different ways and yet, here we are about to move into Christmas and another New year in what feels like a blink of the eye.
We have greatly appreciated your patience as our programs shut down and we value your excitement and seeing the smiles of those of you who have been able to return to shifts, in the programs we were able to open. We assure you that the New Year will bring a return to shifts at our Sydney Children's and Royal North Shore Family Rooms.
During this time, we have taken the opportunity to upgrade our Kitchen in the House (looks AMAZING!) and started on the first of our two communal block bathrooms (again - very impressive). At the Family Room in Sydney Children's Hospital, we are making some changes to enable us to use the sleeping rooms as emergency overnight accommodation and do a bit of a well-deserved refresh to make this space even homelier for our families.
I also want to send those of you have been personally impacted by COVID - be it physically, emotionally or financially - much love and strength.
But most importantly - THANKYOU. We are blessed to have people who are so passionate about our Mission of service to families as part of our RMHC Sydney volunteer family. It is you who make keeping our doors open every day a possibility. We learnt this more than ever during COVID.
We look forward to celebrating you all in February but until then, I hope you all enjoy your Christmas, holiday period, that you stay safe and healthy and that you remember how valued you all are.

I would like to acknowledge that we are on the land of the Bidjigal and Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. The Bidjigal and Gadigal people are the traditional owners and custodians of this land and form part of the wider aboriginal nations of the Sydney area. I would also like to acknowledge and pay my respects to the Elders both past and present.
