Brief Description of Organization and Event:
HOPE Outreach Center, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501c(3) founded in 1995. The Davie-based center offers an immediate 'hand up' to people in the community who find themselves suddenly unable to make ends meet due to a job loss, disability, health crisis, and/or some other emergency circumstance. By providing emergent financial support, food and other educational and social services, HOPE Outreach Center often serves as the financial and emotional bridge that allows families in crisis to return to self reliance and independence quickly and comfortably.
In addition to the HOPE Center’s food pantry, through the years HOPE, has also offered local families a variety of programs and services including an after-school enrichment program for the children of working parents, LEAPS, elderly companionship and visitation, CARE, and emergency financial support, as well as assistance with and applying for public social services.
The organization is fueled almost entirely by small, private contributions (90%) and through the hard-work of a dedicated working Board and more than 150 active volunteers.
At this time we are recruiting volunteers to serve in our Children’s LEAPS Program
