Family Care Team - Youth Mentoring

Are you passionate about empowering young individuals to reach their full potential? Become a mentor with Patrick Henry Family Services and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and youth!

Our mentoring program provides opportunities for individuals aged 25 and above to connect with young mentees, offering guidance, support, and encouragement as they work towards self-directed goals. By committing to meet in-person with your mentee twice a month and maintaining regular check-ins throughout the week, you'll play a crucial role in fostering their personal growth and development. Mentor's activities with their mentees are flexible and determined between mentor and mentee. These activities can be as simple as welcoming mentees to join in the mentor's own routines and working on life skills like grocery shopping, or playing a game of pick-up basketball together, for example.

As a mentor, you'll have the chance to build a lasting relationship with your mentee, providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed. Whether you have experience in mentoring or are eager to make a difference in a young person's life, there's a mentee waiting for your guidance and support.

Join us in creating brighter futures for children and youth – apply today to become a mentor and make a positive impact in your community! Look for the Fill in an application button to the right of this window if you're on a desktop, or above the social icons if you're on a handheld device.

We screen and vet our volunteer mentors to ensure we have the best, most qualified and caring adults serving our children and youth. Upon being interviewed and background checked, all volunteers must provide required documentation and complete online-training prior to being matched with their first mentee. This process may take up to 90 days! If you're thinking about opening your heart to a mentee, we encourage you to apply today. If you have questions, email our Family Engagement Coordinator, Raven Johnson, at rjohnson@patrickhenry.org.
