Farm and Garden - Farm & Garden Workday
SELT needs help maintaining our small educational farm to support our All-Terrain Learning AdventureS (ATLAS) program, a nature-based education initiative designed to connect children in underserved school districts to the beauty of the natural world through wild play.
Additionally, the campus gardens here at Burley Farms will need tending to during the growing season. Since we moved to Burley Farms in 2022, volunteers have been managing our campus pollinator gardens and ornamental planting and have kept the campus looking sharp by weeding, watering, mulching, and more...
Once again, we're combining our efforts of the ATLAS crew with our Garden crew. Sign up for one, all, or any of our Farm & Garden workdays and get outside with SELT!
Farm & Garden workdays will take place on select Tuesday mornings, from 9-noon. The first 2026 session will be on Tuesday, April 21st.
ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME!
Projects will include:

Building up the sensory and exploration gardens
- Maintaining gardens and raised beds
- Adding a picnic table area
- Maintaining and adding to Burley's Backyard play area
- Building shelving in the education shed
- Some planting
- Watering
- Weeding
- Mulching
