Did you know that SELT has two conservation easements with Waste Management along the Cocheco River beside Pickering Ponds? Join us for a fun and informative tour of the easements with SELT and Waste Management staff members to learn about these interesting properties, about SELT easements, about Waste Management’s environmental programs and priorities, and a little about the history of the properties and the surrounding area. Some of the historical context will include the old Christmas tree farm, the remains of the bridge that crossed the Cocheco via England Road, and much more.

In attendance from SELT will be Katie Bates, Conservation Easement Steward and Derrick Trent, Events and Outreach Specialist. In attendance from Waste Management will be Brian DesMarais, Senior Area Manager of Environmental Protection; Steve Dowaliby, Environmental Protection Manager; Paige Bartlett, Environmental Protection Specialist; Bob Magnusson, Engineering and Compliance Manager, and Anne Reichert, Senior Engineer.

GOATs will help with parking, checking in people, collect donations, and assist during the hike.
