GOAT Program - Winter Forest Ecology & Identification Walk

Winter Forest Ecology and Identification Walk

Saturday, February 7th

8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (event starts at 9:00 AM)

Piscassic Greenway, Newmarket & Newfields

Join forester Phil Auger for an educational winter walk along the Greenway trails starting from the Neal Mill Road parking area in Newmarket. Along the way, Phil will teach you about winter shrubs and tree identification, forest ecology, and the history of the property. This walk will include numerous stops, so warm attire (including heavy socks and winter boots) is recommended. Full details about the walk will be provided no later than two days prior to the event.

GOATs Role: Show up 30 minutes prior to the start of the event at 8:30 AM and help with attendance, parking, and donation collection. Make sure all attendees have the proper attire, carry a basic first aid kit with you, and help people back to their cars if needed. Help arrange pick up of GOAT supplies from the GOAT refill station before the trip, if necessary. Return the attendance sheet to Derrick via email or drop off.
