A SELT Walk (Snowshoe) in the Woods

Tuesday, February 10th

8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (event starts at 9:00 AM)

Mast Road Natural Area, Epping

Join experienced SELT hike leader Bill McClure for a monthly series of walks (or cross-country ski, or snowshoe excursions) throughout 2026. Volunteers for this event should be have some snowshoe experience.

Conditions permitting, in February, we will snowshoe on trails at Mast Road Natural Area. This event is geared for hikers with some snowshoe experience and participants will need to bring their own snowshoes. This snowshoe will utilize all the trails at Mast Road Natural Area and may also utilize some of the Rockingham Recreation Trail.

The route will be determined in advance and shared with participants roughly three days prior to the event. If the conditions are not ideal for a snowshoe, this event will still proceed as a winter hike.

This event is limited to 15 participants.

Difficulty – 🥾 🥾 (out of 3)

GOATs Role: Show up 30 minutes prior to the start of the event at 8:30 AM and help with attendance, parking, donation collection, and during the event by snowshoeing at the back of the group serving as the sweep. Make sure all attendees have the proper attire, carry a basic first aid kit with you, and help people back to their cars if needed. Help arrange pick up of GOAT supplies from the GOAT refill station before the trip, if necessary. Return the attendance sheet to Derrick via email or drop off.
