Apple Harvest Day is a day-long family event, featuring nearly 350 vendors, great food, live entertainment, and more. The event was first held in 1985 and now draws more than 60,000 people to the City of Dover's downtown, making it one of the most popular regional festivals and a great way to tell people about the work SELT does!

We changed things up slight in 2025, and I am looking to continue make this easier for all involved in 2026. I will bring all the items and then come back to retrieve the items, but I will need help setting up and tearing down. All volunteers will get free SELT swag and I will have refreshments available for folks.

PLEASE NOTE - The Dover water main project will impact the size of Apple Harvest Day in 2026, but we have a spot secured and are excited to have you join and help out!

7:00 - 9:30 | Set-Up Crew & Opening (2 people):

• The set-up crew will help Derrick with the pop-up tent, some tent weights, the outreach box packed with trail guides, publications, merchandise, etc., and a small folding table. The people that do this shift should be comfortable lifting 30 pounds. Once we're set up, you’ll be there to talk about SELT for the first 30 minutes (or longer if you like), selling SELT merch (which comes with a SELT memberships), give out Trail Guides, and generally spreading the word on our work until the next shift arrives.

9:30 - 12:00 | Early Shift (2 people)

• These folks will be responsible for talking about SELT, selling SELT merch (which comes with a SELT memberships), giving out Trail Guides, and generally spreading the word on our work.

11:45 - 2:15 | Middle Shift (2 people)

• These folks will be responsible for talking about SELT, selling SELT merch (which comes with a SELT memberships), giving out Trail Guides, and generally spreading the word on our work.

2:00 - 4:30 | Closing Shift (2 people):

• These folks will be responsible for talking about SELT, selling SELT merch (which comes with a SELT memberships), giving out Trail Guides, and generally spreading the word on our work until the event starts to die down. At 4 PM you’ll break down the setup, load the stuff into the SELT EV and call it a day!
