Sunday School Teacher / Substitute Teacher

The underlying desire and purpose for the Sunday School Teacher is to help students to develop into fully devoted disciples of Chirst, as well as functional and productive members of the corps and society. A Sunday School Teacher has the responsibility for the preparation and presentation of the weekly Sunday School lesson to their particular class. Each teacher should gear their lesson to the understanding and receptivity of their age group. The Sunday School Teacher should also take a keen interest in their students and contact them in their absence and for milestone events (birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc.) The Sunday School Teacher is expected to inform the Sunday School Superintendent if they will miss a Sunday and to procure an approved Sunday School Teacher Substitute for the class which they will miss. To be an approved Sunday School teacher, you will be required to attend a corps leadership orientation and safe from harm training. These trainings can be found and signed up for in the volunteer database.
