Park Beautification Crew (Mission Trails)
Seeking volunteers who are new to the park or regulars who’d like to give back! Join Park Ranger Elizabeth Delgado on her Park Beautification crew, held the fourth Saturday of each month (except July and August due to the heat) from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Projects vary but may include pruning brush, hauling and spreading mulch, sweeping walkways, litter abatement, riverbed clean-up and fence repairs. Please wear weather appropriate clothing, including long pants, sun protection and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Be sure to bring a personal water bottle to refill and your own work gloves, if you have them. Tools, gloves and know-how, along with snacks, ice water and Gatorade, will be provided. Volunteers are responsible for knowing their own physical limitations, the safe usage of tools, and being aware of the environment (sun/heat, rattlesnakes, ticks, poison oak, etc.).
*Volunteers under 18 years of age must have the volunteer waiver electronically signed by a parent or legal guardian. Volunteers under 13 years of age, must also be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian in order to participate.
Please reach out to Ranger Elizabeth at edelgado@sandiego.gov to confirm your party size and find out the project site location.
