Outdoor Environmental Enhancement - Invasive Species Crew
Are you interested in helping mammals, reptiles, birds, and insects thrive? Want to directly impact the fire resilience of our park and surrounding area? You can accomplish these things by assisting Ranger Dustin remove mustards, thistles, and other invasive plant species within Mission Trails Regional Park.
The Invasive Species Crew is held on the 1st Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (except in July & Aug., due to the heat).
Please wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and sun protection. Water, electrolytes, snacks, and gloves will be provided. Volunteers are responsible for following the provided training at each event covering the safe usage of tools and environmental concerns (sun/heat, rattlesnakes, ticks, poison oak, etc.). Volunteers are also responsible for staying within their physical limitations. Minors ages 8 and above are welcome to participate (with a signed waiver). An adult must be present for those under the age of 13.
