Weed Pull Events - Saturdays 2026 - Queen Elizabeth Park Weed Pull Event
Queen Elizabeth Park Site Information
City of Edmonton staff will be leading volunteers in the hand-removal of invasive plant species such as hound’s-tongue, yellow toadflax, woolly burdock and more. Tools, gloves and refreshments will be provided
Meeting and Weed Pull Location
- Parking: There is limited parking at the entrance of 90 Ave NW or a larger parking lot off Queen Elizabeth Park Rd (please note that you will need to cross the street, but there is a light-up crosswalk).
- Transit: The nearest transit stop is at the intersection of Walterdale Hill and Queen Elizabeth Park Rd, approximately a 7 minute (600m) walk from the weed pull site.
- Biking: The weed pull site is accessible to many multi-use paths from the east and west River Valley as well as from Downtown and Strathcona neighbourhoods. Please note that there is no bike rack near the weed pull site. However, you are welcome to lock your bike to a tree and it will always be in sight.
Site Details:
- The site is mostly shaded. The terrain is uneven and vegetated with grasses and small shrubs. It can be slippery after rainfall, but if conditions are unfavorable we will relocate to a nearby site and let volunteers know.
- Some plants have irritating leaves so long sleeve shirts are highly recommended.
- The site is mostly flat and in view from the main trails. We will be working in an area with tall vegetation, along a paved trail.
Washrooms: There are washroom facilities available at this site.

If you require any accommodations, please reach out to us at invasiveweeds@edmonton.ca. We want to keep learning about the diverse needs of our community, and we value your contributions greatly!
