Hospitality - Merchandising Ambassador

If so, put your talent to use in the Fort Edmonton Park Gift Shops! As a member of the Merchandising team, you'll create appealing displays of fine merchandise, recommend products, and get the first peek at new items!

Shelving displays products for sale

Help guests select a token of remembrance, corral students eager to buy candy, and be a part of every guests' great experience at Fort Edmonton Park! 

Volunteers assist with:

  • Creating a welcoming environment for guests 

  • Assisting cashiers during peak hours (specifically May and June) such as bagging items and monitoring line control

  • Restocking merchandise and maintaining product displays

  • Tracking and documenting damaged goods on a monthly basis

  • Assisting in organizing and maintaining the storage areas

Assets:

  • Experience with merchandising, and other retail functions

  • Available shifts in May/June are from Wednesday-Friday, 11:00 am - 4:30 pm, with a focus on supporting school groups. July/August shifts are on weekends.

  • Strong customer service skills with the diversity of customers of all ages

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to share & learn new skills 

  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team with staff or volunteers

  • Ability to move around the shop for the entire shift

  • Additional languages other than English

  • Ability to greet & provide directions to visitors at the Park

  • Experience working at a historical site

This volunteer position is an ongoing commitment of a few hours each week.  The position may be renewed annually; applicants must be over 16 yrs or a family member with an adult.
 
 

Qualifications Required

  • Age Requirement Must be 16 years or older
  • Attend a New Volunteer Orientation Session Must be Attended
  • Site Safety Orientation Must be at least Completed
