Role Location:

Halls 3 & 4

Role Summary:

To work alongside other team members to tidy books and assist customers with their search for specific books.

Specific Tasks:

  1. Tidy books that have been left untidy on tables, and where books have fallen over or fallen to the floor
  2. Check at Sale Point area regularly to collect any books left behind, return to correct table/category. Use trolley to collect if necessary
  3. Check regularly around hall perimeter for books left unattended and return to correct table/category.  Use trolley to collect if necessary
  4. When approached by customers for assistance, greet them and assist them in their search for specific books if you can or direct them to the category they are looking for, cafes, bathrooms, information booth, sale points
  5. Direct customers to staff member if you require assistance to help them
  6. Provide customers with a trolley if you see they are struggling with a large number of books.

 

Desired Requirements:

It is preferable that volunteers in this role have had some level of customer service experience and love to meet people. During busy shifts (weekends), the ability to efficiently communicate with a large volume of customers is required.

Breaks:

Breaks are provided for the morning and afternoon shifts and a light lunch is provided for volunteers rostered for the whole day.

 

Refrigerators will be available for storage of your own provision.

 

Note:

Gloves will be available if required.

 

It is a requirement for all volunteers and staff working at this event to wear enclosed shoes.

 

It can be very hot in the summer months, wear cool, comfortable clothing and shoes.  Bring water bottle, water for refill is available in Volunteer sign-in area. Advise Lifeline team member if you require a break.

On-job training will be provided.
